Board of Regents meeting in Cedar Falls today
The state Board of Regents is meeting today at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
Items on the agenda include a vote on a proposal from UNI that will allow the school to charge in-state tuition rates for incoming freshmen or transfer students from the border states of Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
The Board will also vote on the appointment of an executive director for the University of Iowa’s new Center for Intellectual Freedom. A bill signed into law in June requires the creation of the Center to focus on American history, civil government, and intellectual diversity.
