Lane closures on Iowa 7 in Storm Lake begin on Monday, Aug. 11

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Aug. 7, 2025 – If you drive on Iowa 7 through Storm Lake you need to be aware of a pavement patching project that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa DOT’s District 3 office.
Beginning on Monday, Aug. 11, until Wednesday, Aug. 20, weather permitting, crews will need to close some lanes of Iowa 7 so patching work can take place. The contractor will try to keep through traffic moving, when possible. You can expect lanes to be closed on the four-lane portion of Iowa 7. For the three-lane section of Iowa 7, you will be directed through the work zone with the use of a pilot car.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
