Crawford County Placed Under Burn Ban Amid Dry Conditions
CRAWFORD COUNTY, Iowa — Crawford County Emergency Management has announced that a burn ban will go into effect this weekend due to ongoing dry conditions and a lack of precipitation in the forecast.
According to Crawford County Emergency Management, the burn ban will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, and will remain in place until further notice.
Officials say the decision comes as dry weather continues across the region, creating an elevated risk for grass and field fires. With no measurable precipitation expected in the immediate future, authorities are taking preventative measures to reduce the chance of uncontrolled fires.
During the burn ban, all open burning will be prohibited throughout Crawford County.
Emergency Management officials are asking residents to comply fully with the ban and to avoid any outdoor burning until conditions improve and the order is lifted. Updates will be provided as weather conditions change.
