(Denison, IA) Crawford County Supervisor Ty Rosburg posted his endorsement of Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ashley Hinson on his social media profile Friday, citing agriculture, rural development, national security and his military background among the factors behind his support.

Rosburg, a Republican member of the Crawford County Board of Supervisors, said Hinson’s support for conservative national priorities and issues affecting Iowa agriculture were important to his decision. Rosburg is currently serving a term that runs through 2028.

In his post, Rosburg pointed to his past reliance on organizations including Farm Bureau, pork producers and cattlemen when evaluating federal policies affecting agriculture and livestock transportation. He said he considers the positions of those organizations when deciding which candidates to support.

Rosburg also said his military background plays a role in how he evaluates candidates for federal office, particularly when it comes to national security and foreign policy. He acknowledged concerns surrounding fuel and grocery prices but said he believes broader national priorities must also be considered.

Rosburg also addressed his views of the Democratic Party, saying that, with the exception of Democratic U.S. Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, he believes Democratic members of the federal government have placed party interests ahead of the states and districts they represent.

He also pointed to the U.S. Senate’s role in confirming Supreme Court justices. Rosburg praised President Donald Trump’s previous Supreme Court appointments and said maintaining Republican control of the Senate is important to him should another Supreme Court vacancy occur.

Rosburg also expressed concerns about future Supreme Court nominees selected by Democratic presidents, saying that issue is another factor in his support for Republican candidates for the Senate.

Hinson currently represents Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House and is running for the U.S. Senate. She faces Democrat Josh Turek and Libertarian Thomas Laehn in the November 3 general election.

Rosburg’s endorsement adds the support of a Crawford County elected official to Hinson’s campaign ahead of the November election.
