Veterans Benefit & Resource Clinic

At the Russell Brasel, American Legion Building, 101 Franklin St, Dow City
Area Veterans and their families are invited to attend the Veterans Benefit & Resource Clinic, hosted by Crawford, Harrison and Shelby Counties. This free event offers an opportunity for Veterans and their families to connect with various organizations and receive assistance with their benefits and other services.
The fair will feature a variety of resources, including:
- VA Benefits Assistance: Crawford, Harrison and Shelby County Veterans Service Officers, will be on hand to help Veterans apply for benefits, check status on pending claims, understand their eligibility for various benefits, and file claims for compensation and pension.
- Health and Wellness: Representatives from the Omaha VA Medical Center will provide information on Veteran health services. Crawford County Community Health will provide free blood pressure checks from 10 am to noon.
- State of Iowa benefits: The Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs along with county service officers will have information concerning benefits unique to Iowa Veterans, such as the Iowa Veterans Cemetery and Iowa Veterans Trust Fund.
- Community Support: Booths from local organizations that provide various support services to the Veterans community (from all three counties), including: home health services, hospice organizations, Assisted living and skilled care, and so much more.
A free lunch will be provided starting at 11 am.
Crawford, Harrison & Shelby Counties are dedicated to serving the needs of Veterans and their families in navigating and obtaining federal, state and county benefits they are entitled to, ensuring they receive the support they’ve earned.
