East Sac County hosting West Monona with playoff spot in sight
East Sac County is hosting West Monona for Senior Night in Wall Lake with a playoff spot on the line.
East Sac County broke into the win column last week by hanging on to beat MVAOCOU by a touchdown at home and to capture that final playoff spot in Class 1A District 8 the formula for the Raiders and head coach Eric McCullough is simple: Just Win Baby!
"The position we're sitting in right now and the adversity that these kids have fought through as a team shows their just huge character guys. We've never hung our heads. We've always fought through every game. We just don't seem to give up and that's hard to find sometimes and it's great to see out of these kids and that all comes down to them just wanting to get better every week."
West Monona can get in with a win by at least eight points and a Rams loss. The Spartans’ last victory came on their Senior Night against the Raiders last season but first-year head coach Bret Doorenbos says they never stop fighting.
"It is very cool that we can still be playing for a playoff spot but like I tell my kids we just focus on now and don't worry about what's going to happen next week. We worry about what's happening now. So we just play each play."
