High School Football Semifinal Results 11/10/2022

CLASS A

Thursday, November 10

West Hancock, Britt 22, Lynnville-Sully 14

Kale Zuehl scored on a one yard run with 6:49 left in the game to lift West Hancock to the 22-14 win over Lynnville-Sully. That was Zuehl’s second rushing score of the game and he notched 98 yards on the gound. West Hancock had two other runners go over 100 yards with Mitchell Smith gaining 123 and Kellen Smith with 106. Lynville-Sully’s got 165 yards rushing from tailback Corder Noun-Harder and Conner Maston scored their two touchdowns on 87 yards receiving. The Hawks did throw three interceptions in the game, one from Maston and two from Lannon Montgomery. The Hawks end the season at 11-1 and the Eagles move on to the title game at 12-0.

Grundy Center 49, Woodbury Central, Moville 20

Grundy Center opened up a 28-7 lead by halftime and rolled to the 49-20 win over Woodbury Central. Justin Knaack had 116 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. Colin Gordon threw for 248 yards and 5 scores for the Spartans. The Spartans advance to the title game with a record of 12-0 and the Wildcats end their season at 11-1.

CLASS 4A

Thursday, November 10

Lewis Central 42, Carlisle 21

Lewis Central dominated from the outset and led 35-0 by halftime to keep their title defense rolling. The Titans piled up 482 yards of offense led by 285 through the air with three touchdowns from Braylon Kammrad. Curtis Witte had two touchdown receptions and Jonathan Humpal ran for two scores. Lewis Central heads back to the 4A title game at 12-0. Carlisle ends the season at 10-2.

Xavier, Cedar Rapids 38, North Scott 10

Cedar Rapids Xavier found the end zone three times in the first half and raced away from North Scott 38-10. Xavier quarterback Thomas Ronan capped off three drives with short touchdown plunges and threw fro 249 yards and a 90-yard score to Grayson Hartman. Hartman tallied 173 yards receiving on the day. Xavier stays unblemished at 12-0 and North Scott ends the year at 9-3.
