CAM finishes 10th at 1A Boys State Golf, Jahde takes 4th individually

The CAM Cougars boys golf team has finished in 10th at the Class 1A Boys State Tournament held at Ames Golf and Country Club Monday and Tuesday. The Cougars led the tournament by one stroke after the first round in a very tight team race but struggled a bit on day two. The Cougars ended up with 23 more strokes on their second round while some other teams improved dramatically from their first to second rounds. Hillcrest Academy ended up winning the title with a +82, 319 total for the tournament. West Fork was second with a +87, 324. CAM finished with a +125 total for the two days.

Chase Jahde played very well for CAM and finished 4th place as an individual. He shot an +11, 153 for the tournament. He followed a first round 75 with a second round 78. Mikey Takacs of Regina Catholic and Keith Thompson of Hamburg both finished the second day at +6 for the two days.

Other two-day finishes for CAM were: Seth Hensley +28, 170. Bradyn Bohnsack +41, 183. Gavyn Jessen +63, 205. Carson Cary +52, 194. Lukas James +52, 194.

The Class 2A team champion was Grundy Center with a +29 total at Coldwater Golf Links. Beckman Catholic were runners-up with +43. Kuemper Catholic finished 8th with a +96 total. The 2A individual champion was Judd Jirovsky of Grundy Center with an -11 two day total, distancing the field by 11 shots.

The Class 3A champion at Veenker Memorial Golf Club was MOC-Floyd Valley with a two day total of +53. Knoxville were runners-up with a +67 total. The individual 3A champion was Roman Roth of Washington with a -1 total for the tournament after closing with a -2 round on day two.
