Game was back and forth throughout the first half. 7-6 Esc after 1. At half SCC led 19-18.
It was a lower possession first half where both teams played pretty good defense.
We did not shoot very well the first half but we fought hard to get some offensive rebounds
and 2 nd looks.
Our kids rebounded well and kept SCC off the free throw line.
In the 2 nd half we shot even poorer but could not get the offensive rebounds we were getting in
the first half. The difference in the game was halfway through the 3 rd quarter and on, SCC was
able to collect their misses and convert several offensive rebounds into points against an
undersized ESC team.
After 3 we trailed 32-22. We had trouble reversing the ball quickly and smoothly and just
couldn’t get the pass to our shooters with good rhythm.
In the 4 th we were picking up our aggression but just could not knock down shits and take care
of the ball.
Jack Gullett had a good shooting performance with 12 points but we could not get anybody else
to knock down shots consistently. SCC played a tough extended zone defense that was tough
to attack. We have good shooters but will learn from this and get better. I did like our team
defense, it was a big improvement since our first game on Tuesday.
