Lake View Man Suffered Life-Threatening Head Injuries Over The Weekend
Authorities in Sac County are requesting the public’s help in their investigation into a weekend incident that left a Lake View man with life-threatening head injuries. According to Sac County Sheriff, Ken McClure, first responders were dispatched to the 100th block of West 4th Street in Lake View around 1:04 am on Saturday. They found 50-year-old Stanley “Sam” Mortensen II. Mortensen was standing and leaning against his truck which was parked in the middle of the street and was unable to tell responders what had happened. Mortensen became unresponsive and was transported to Loring Hospital by Sac County Emergency Medical Services and later airlifted to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Law enforcement reports that a verbal argument had taken place between Mortensen, a female, and another male who were on a motorcycle prior to the incident. The Sac County Sheriff’s Office is asking anybody with information or who witnessed how Mortensen was injured to contact the Sac County Sheriff’s Detectives at 712-662-7127. The Lake View Police Department and Sac County Attorney’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
