State approves incentives for proposed Boone plant
The Iowa Economic Development Authority board approved state incentives today for a proposed food plant in central Iowa. The state board approved seven million dollars in direct assistance as well as tax benefits for Daisy Brand. The Texas-based company, which makes sour cream and cottage cheese, plans to build a 750-thousand-square-foot plant in Boone. The state incentives come with the promise the company will create 106 new jobs. Daisy Brand already operates plants in Arizona, Ohio, and Texas.
