High-speed Pursuit in Odebolt Late Thursday
ODEBOLT, IOWA: On April 18th, 2024 around 2252 hours, Sac County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the area of 325th Street/Gard Avenue that had been previously sighted in front of residences within Odebolt. Upon arrival in the area, Deputies were able to see a vehicle leaving the area of Gard Avenue towards Highway 175. The suspect vehicle increased speed and continued south of Highway 175 onto 2 nd Street in Odebolt. The deputy observed the suspect vehicle’s high rate of speed and evasive driving patterns, therefore a pursuit was initiated within Odebolt. For five minutes, deputies maintained emergency lights and sirens while continuing to pursue the fleeing vehicle which persistently changed directions and fled through alleys and front yards. The vehicle eventually came to a stop, impacting a tree in the area of the 100 block of West 4th Street. The driver, later identified as 39-year-old Ryan Edward Miller, fled the scene on foot. Deputies and K9 Remo continued pursuit of Miller on foot where he was located south of where he initially fled on foot. Miller was taken into custody without further incident. Miller is currently in the Sac County Jail on charges of:
