(Carroll Broadcasting) Residents in Lake View will soon have the opportunity to get rid of unwanted items during the annual city-wide clean-up day. On May 6 and 7, Rudd Sanitation and city staff will drive around Lake View, picking up approved items to safely dispose of them for community residents. City Administrator Theresa Pudenz says this is a perfect opportunity for those doing a little spring cleaning.
Applications can be picked up at the Lake View City office. All items must be placed on the curb by 7 a.m. Crews will only pass each residence once and will only pick items up from residents who have filled out the application and paid the $10 fee. Pudenz says items wanting to be picked up will need to be sorted.
Tires, paint, and hazardous materials will also not be accepted. Pudenz says appliances will be accepted but require an additional sticker and application for each.
Pudenz also wants residents to know that on Monday, May 6, Iowa State Bank will provide free paper shredding from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at its bank in Lake View. Again, any Lake View resident wishing to participate and have items picked up during the city-wide clean-up days is asked to fill out an application by Friday, May 3, at noon.
