Crawford County Area Republican Women host Iowa Attorney General and U.S. Congressman in Denison Monday, May 20
The Crawford County Area Republican Women will be meeting at Bella Sera Restaurant in
Denison at Noon on Monday, May 20, 2024. The program at this meeting will be “Pizza &
Politics”. Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird and U.S. Congressman Randy Feenstra will be
special guest speakers from 12:00-1:30 p.m.
Before taking office as Iowa Attorney General in January 2023, Brenna Bird served as a
prosecutor for six years, first as the Fremont County Attorney and then since 2018 as the
Guthrie County Attorney. She was elected by her fellow county attorneys to leadership
roles with the Iowa County Attorney Association, most recently serving as the Association’s
President. Brenna has also engaged in the private practice of law, worked in the Iowa
Governor’s Office and the U.S. House of Representative, and taught as an adjunct professor
at the University of Iowa College of Law. Born and raised on an Iowa farm where she was
homeschooled, Brenna graduated from Drake University and went on to receive her Juris
Doctor at the University of Chicago. She lives on the family farm in rural Dexter with her
husband Bob, an Iraq war veteran, and their son.
Randy Feenstra was elected to represent the Iowa 4 th District in the U.S House of
Representatives. He serves on the House Ways and Means and the House Agriculture
Committees. Feenstra was born and raised in Hull, Iowa, where he has served as City
Administrator, Sioux County Treasurer, and Iowa State Senator. After being head of sales
for the foreign Candy Company, he began teaching business and economics classes at
Dordt University. He is married to his wife of 30 years, Lynette, and they have four
children. Among his priorities are advocating for Iowa taxpayers and families; securing the
border; fighting for farmers; standing up to China; supporting our police; defending the unborn;
encouraging American energy production; protecting the second amendment; supporting our
troops and our military; standing up for our veterans; supporting Iowa parents and children;
and standing with Israel.
Crawford County Area Republican Women President Gwen Ecklund shared that interested
area Conservatives are invited to attend this meeting, free to members and associate
members. Pizza will be served. Ecklund stated, “Our meetings are for conservative men
and students, as well as women. Guests are welcome from the area. Our goal is to share
