The planting season is rapidly coming to a close. The U-S-D-A report says corn planting is nearly complete with 89 percent of the corn already emerging. That's nine days behind last year and just two days behind the five-year average. The corn condition is rated at 73 percent good to excellent. Just eight percent of the expected soybean crop remains to be planted, which is equal to the five-year average. Seventy-five percent of the soybean crop has emerged which is more than one week behind last yea. Soybean conditions are rated 73 percent good to excellent.
