Exira woman gets probation on gun violation
An Exira woman has escaped prison time after illegally buying her significant other a gun.
Court documents show 24-year-old Leslie Nicole Moton, also known as Leslie Caniglia bought a gun in August 2023 for 23-year-old Rey Moton of Elk Horn. Leslie knew Rey was a felon when she bought him the gun and falsely said she was buying it for herself. Investigators say Rey Moton used the gun less than a week later during a burglary in Atlantic.
Rey Moton was sentenced to 63 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Leslie Moton received a five-years probation.
