Manning Hausbarn Heritage Park hosting Horse Till Event October 27th
The Horse Till Event, third of the Hausbarn “Heritage Horses Series Events”, will be held at the Hausbarn Heritage Park on October 27th from 1:00-4:00. This event will be a Horse Till show that will feature draft horses showing off their skills with old school tillage tools. Food and Drinks will be available.
In 2024 The Manning Community Foundation introduced the “Heritage Horses Event Series” to recognize and celebrate the contribution of the horses of yesteryear and showcasing the work of past farming practices. the draft horses who did the work around the farms of long ago, and the carriage horses who provided transportation before the automobile. The Willow Creek Carriage Classic was the 2nd event of the Heritage Horses Series Events recognizing the carriage horses who provided transportation before the automobile. The 1st event was a Draft Horse Farm Team competition held in May where over 300 attended to watch the draft horse teams compete in a cultivator class feeding team competition, log pole, and obstacle course, farm yard obstacle. The 3rd and final event, for the season, will feature the draft horses where horse teams will plow, disc, and harrow.
A few acres of ground will be plowed by over 20 horses entered to date. All Heritage Horses Series Events cost is $15 for entry and free to children under 12 and Hausbarn Heritage Park Members. (Free tshirts available while supplies last with entry)
