Ar-We-Va Students Outperform State in Latest School Rankings

The Ar-We-Va Community School District is celebrating strong results in the 2025 Iowa School Performance Profile, with students surpassing state averages across multiple academic areas. Science proficiency reached 91.84 percent—nearly 25 points higher than the state’s 67.14 percent—while math scores came in at 83.44 percent compared to the state’s 70.93 percent. English Language Arts proficiency also stood out, with Ar-We-Va students achieving 86.75 percent, well above the state average of 73.56 percent. Beyond academics, the district posted one of the lowest chronic absenteeism rates in the region at just 6.75 percent, and its graduation rate of 90.91 percent outpaced the statewide figure of 89.88 percent. School ratings reflected these successes, with Ar-We-Va Elementary receiving a “commendable” designation and the high school earning a “high performing” rating—ensuring no additional state support or oversight will be needed in the year ahead.
