Onawa Man Found Guilty of First-Degree Murder in Wife’s Death
A jury has delivered a guilty verdict in the case of a Northwest Iowa man charged in the shooting death of his wife.
According to court records, 50-year-old Jamie Allen was found guilty of first-degree murder on Thursday, February 12, following a trial that began the previous week.
Allen was accused of fatally shooting his wife, Stacey Allen, in Monona County in May 2024. Under Iowa law, a conviction for first-degree murder carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The charge stems from a shooting reported in Onawa on May 10, 2024. Authorities say the incident occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation reported that 47-year-old Stacey Allen died as a result of the shooting.
