Iowa defense absent in loss at USC
Iowa's porous defense was too much to overcome on the road again. USC shot a blistering 65 percent and beat the Hawkeyes 99-89. Iowa shot better than 53 percent in a game it never led. The Hawkeyes were outrebounded 37 to 20 in falling to 3-3 in the Big Ten. Owen Freeman led Iowa with a career-high 23 points. The Hawkeyes play UCLA on Friday night.
