Denison school board makes several financial decisions at regular meeting
The Board of Directors of the Denison Community School District unanimously adopted several resolutions related to operations or finances for next school year during Monday night's meeting.
The board approved six separate banks as depositories for at least part of a $65 million sum of school funds. They also transferred more than $38,000 from the General Fund to the Activity Fund because of COVID restrictions and allocated close to $15,000 for athletic safety equipment.
The board accepted four resignations and endorsed the appointment of Tiffany Mulligan to a language arts teacher position at the middle school. They approved sharing transportation operations with the Schleswig Community School District along with bids for milk and fuel during the 2021-22 school year. They also accepted the second reading of school board policies for next year. The members agreed to move the school board meeting time up to noon for July 19.
