Denison Police Reporting Four Incidents Since Last Thursday
The Denison Police Department is reporting four incidents since Thursday including one arrest and one motor vehicle accident.
The most recent public release indicates an alleged theft occurred at around 3 a.m. Tuesday behind the apartment complex on the 1500 block of Broadway. Items were reportedly stolen out of a vehicle parked in the alley and a suspicious white male wearing all black was seen at the time. The total value of the stolen property is estimated at $300. The listed items include a Garmin GPS, tow straps, jumper cables, and a black Cabela's backpack. The initial charge a suspect would face is fifth degree theft.
A separate alleged theft happened between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Sunday. The alleged victim reported that a gun was stolen out a vehicle parked on the 2000 block of Bel Aire Drive. A suspect would face an initial charge of fourth degree theft in this case.
Police issued a warrant for the arrest of 30-year-old Nate Herrin on Thursday. The 30-year-old male was cited on two counts of theft for shoplifting four bottles of Crown Royal whiskey valued at $120 from Walmart.
The traffic accident took place at just before 7 p.m. near South 8th Street. The related document indicates that a 2014 Mazda driven by 19-year-old Brian Vega of Denison and a 2014 Jeep Patriot Limited driven by 19-year-old Cristal Magana were both backing out of a trailer court parking lane at the same time. They reportedly collided and caused minor damage to the rear of both vehicles. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued. Damage estimates are listed at $950 for the Jeep and $500 for the Mazda.
