City Council approves several purchases for Denison projects

The Denison City Council approved a variety of purchases and work agreements during their regular called meeting on Tuesday night.

The council resolved to award Khronke Construction the FEMA river embankment project with a contract and bond that includes a June 17, 2022 start date. They resolved to approve a contract and bond with Frazier Contracting for the Homes for Iowa basement on Avenue C. They also approved a quote of $16,500 from Chad's Plumbing for the plumbing and sewer connections in that home.

Most of the council members approved a contract with Granzen Plumbing and Heating worth $6,950. That is the only decision that was not unanimous with Councilman John Granzen abstaining from the vote.

The council endorsed a $3,100 quote for installing a new camera at City Hall. They authorized purchasing a Public Works skid loader and a snowplow as well. They approved the design concept recommended by the Planning and Zoning committee for an outdoor dining area in front of the Bake Shop and Hollywood Cafe'. They discussed P&Z recommendations on steel roofs and amending Chapter 171 regarding opaque barriers but took no final action on either topic.
