Special Election Results - Harlan, Ar-We-Va, OABCIG
Several school districts in West Central Iowa held special elections on Tuesday. Harlan Community School District voters narrowly approved a $22.9 million General Obligation bond for upgrades of all district schools. That item received just more than the 60% majority needed to pass. Harlan voters also extended their current Revenue Purpose Statement in a related item. More than 67% voted yes on that and it required a simple majority.
Ar-We-Va approved a Public Education and Recreation Levy that could bring $40,000 to the district with a 71% yes vote over 230 ballots after that item needed a majority to pass. OABCIG renewed a Physical Plant and Equipment Levy by voting 54% yes and extended a Revenue Purpose Statement by voting 53% yes with each item needing a majority for approval.
