Local Police Warning About Holiday Theft

Local Police Warning About Holiday Theft

Denison Police Chief Brandon Rinnan says an uptick in theft is a reality of the holiday season. He says porch pirates are especially common around this time of year.

“I think it’s important for us to stay vigilant on where our packages are and when they’re going to be delivered. If you are missing a package off of your doorstep you can call the authorities, let us know, and we can do our investigation,” said Rinnan.

Rinnan says it’s important to let law enforcement handle it when you do suspect any kind of crime.

“Obviously people have an idea of who possibly could be doing it but at the same time we have due process in our country and we have to do an investigation and make sure we do a nice thorough job in order for that due process to take place,” said Rinnan.

He says this Thanksgiving and Christmas season has been good so far and it’s just something to keep in the back of your mind, especially during the holidays.
