CCMH Hosting 26th Annual EMS Conference in March
Crawford County Memorial Hospital is hosting the 26th Annual Crawford County Emergency Medical Services Conference on Saturday, March 11.
The EMS Conference will be in person for the first time in three years and CCMH Ambulance department manager Cori Rayevich says that's the most exciting part about this year's event.
"Being back in person and having our vendors come and join us. I'm speaking this year so I'm a little nervous about speaking in person but I'm a little excited too," said Rayevich.
Several vendors will have products on display for purchase but the main purpose of the conference is to provide personnel with up-to-date life savings skills and information. CCMH Director of Emergency Services Kelby Eck is among the speakers who will cover a variety of topics.
"To be together all in one place working hand-in-hand for the first time since 2019 as a community is a big step in getting back to some normalcy again finally," said Eck.
CCMH Director of Marketing and Development Don Luensmann says this will be a unique experience with continuing education credits available to EMS Conference participants.
"Not just new EMTs or first responders or paramedics but people who have been in the business for a while. People who have seen a lot of things and been around the block. We have people coming from Nebraska and Missouri. We put together, I think, an EMS conference that is bar none one of the best in the state of Iowa," said Luensmann.
The conference begins at 8 am at Denison High School in the Fine Arts Center, with registration beginning at 7:30 am. There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required.
