Denison Hosting Community Visioning Focus Groups Saturday
Denison is asking people to participate in a focus group workshop on Saturday as part of the 2023 Iowa’s Living Roadways Community Visioning Program.

Mayor Pam Soseman says residents are invited to the Denison High School to share ideas for transportation improvements in a small group setting.
“It’s not about the city government. It’s about the people taking ownership of their community, taking an hour’s time, and saying this is what we want to see. Tell them what you want,” said Soseman.
The workshop will feature focus groups of steering committee members, older adults (65 years old and older), those with limited mobility, active recreationists, and parents. Each focus group will take about an hour with the first one beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Mayor Soseman says Iowa State University students will take ideas directly from Saturday to help Denison develop future plans.
“This is the program that will bring a project to you and it will be shelf-ready for the City of Denison. Would you like a bike trail? We will have an opportunity to work with a landscape architect. Why wouldn’t people come in and say I want to help with that or I have a vision? Please come and share your vision on Saturday morning,” said Soseman.
Denison is one of ten Iowa communities selected to participate in the award-winning program during 2023.
