Schleswig Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash on E-16
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office reports that 20-year-old Ethan Burroughs of Schleswig died in a single-vehicle accident on Saturday morning.
Burroughs was reportedly eastbound in a blue 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe on D Avenue when his vehicle crossed the center line and left the road. The vehicle then struck a large tree in the north ditch. The sheriff’s office received a call about the accident at around 6:30 a.m. but the report says they believed the accident happened much earlier in the morning. The front airbags deployed but Burroughs reportedly was not wearing his seat belt with no sign of over-correcting on the highway. The Schleswig Fire Department and Crawford County Memorial Hospital ambulance assisted at the scene.
