House in Ida Grove Destroyed by Monday Fire

A home in Ida Grove is a total loss after a house fire early Monday morning.
The fire chief says the call came in at 4:49 a.m., according to multiple news outlets. They arrived to find the house on Moorhead Avenue completely engulfed in flames with fire coming out of the windows and roof of the home. Authorities say the man who lived in the house had to leave the property to report the fire after he couldn’t find his phone. Officials reportedly life-flighted him to a Lincoln, Nebraska hospital because of smoke inhalation. A backhoe helped demolish the home which is considered a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
