Denison’s Spring Open Burning Begins This Weekend
The City of Denison’s spring open-burning period begins on Saturday, April 29th at sunrise and will conclude on Sunday, May 7th at sunset. Open burning can only take place after sunrise and before sunset. Open burning can not be done on any public sidewalk, curb, or street. Please ensure the burning is supervised, use caution, and be considerate to neighbors. Do not use flammable liquids, such as gasoline, diesel, lighter fluid, kerosene, or any other flammable liquid to start a burn. Clear a 10-foot area around the burn site. Have water and tools ready if the fire spreads outside of its perimeter. Avoid burning on windy or dry days. Supervise the fire until it is out. Yard waste, such as leaves, sticks, and weeds are permitted, as well as utilizing the yard waste location on South Main Street as an alternative to burning. Garbage and treated wood is not allowed.
