Panic at traffic stop leads to arrests, and airlifting

A press release from the Sac County Sheriff's Office states that on the morning of Saturday, October 24th just before 1 a.m., a Sheriff's Deputy on patrol stopped a car just south of Sac City for an equipment violation. During the stop, the deputy received consent to search the car. As the deputy approached the passenger side and asked the passenger identified as 46 year old Christian Garret of Rockwell City to step out of the car, Garret began to scream. According to the release Garrett was acting irrationally, and talking about dying, and told law enforcement that he had eaten about an ounce of Methamphetamine. Sac County Ambulance transported Garrett to Loring Hospital in Sac City. Garrett was airlifted to a Sioux City Hospital. As a result of the stop, 31 year old Matt Olson of Breda, who was the driver of the vehicle was charged with fraudulent use of registration. Sac City and Lake View Police assisted at the scene.
