Harrison County Board of Health passes mask mandate resolution

A two and a half hour hearing with the Harrison County Board of Health took place yesterday. The hearing involved discussion, questions, and comments from residents of Harrison County and even some outside the county. Afterward, a vote was taken on the proposed document regarding face coverings, which passed unanimously. Additions were made to the resolution. The first was including language about how the document will be reviewed and reapproved by the Harrison County Board of Health and the Harrison County Board of Supervisors every 30 days. Additional language includes measurable goals that the two boards can look at to decide if the mandate will be lifted. The measurable goal decided on was for the positivity rate must remain under 10 percent for 2 consecutive weeks. This resolution will be presented to the Board of Supervisors at their October 29th meeting. The discussion will begin at 11:00 A.M. That board then has the ability to enforce the mandate.
