Update--Child is found and safe (Orig. story)-Officials are searching for child near Panama, IA
After the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to KJAN Atlantic News this morning that emergency crews are searching for a missing two-and-a-half year old child in an area east of Panama. They have since confirmed that the child has been found and is safe. Earlier this morning, the family woke up to find the child gone from the area near 609 1600th Street. Firefighters from Panama were paged out to assist in the search at around 4:30-a.m. Crews from Earling and Westphalia and Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies are also on the scene. Additional information is currently not available.
