Verdict reached in Monona County murder case
A Monona County man who was accused of murder in 2018 is due back in court. 22 year old Eliot Stowe, is charged with first-degree murder for the death of his grandmother, 66 year old Cheryl Stow at her rural home in Castana in June of 2018. Stowe waived his right to a jury trial, so he went through a bench trial in August for the charges.
Stowe pleads not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming to have undiagnosed schizophrenia. The judge has now reached a verdict in the case and it is due to be announced tomorrow November 13th at the courthouse in Onawa. Stowe faces life in prison without parole if found guilty.
