Alleged burglars charged in Carroll
Charges were officially filed last week against a duo believed to be responsible for a recent string of motor vehicle burglaries in Carroll. Carroll County District Court records display that 19-year-old Austin Eslick of Ames and 19-year-old Kaela Schultz of Carroll have each been charged with second and third-degree burglary, which are class C and D felonies. The two were also charged with six counts of motor vehicle burlary and one count of credit card fraud which are aggravated misdemeanors. An investigation by the Carroll Police Department determined Eslick and Schultz had taken items from the garage of an occupied home and numerous unlocked cars throughout town between November 3rd and 4th. In addition, both are accused of attempting to use a stolen debit card at a Carroll retailer. Their arraignment hearing is set for Monday, November 30th.
