Iowa authorities: 20-year-old in custody after 17-year-old girl found dead
On Sunday, September 22, 2024, a juvenile female was reported missing in Farnhamville, Iowa. The Calhoun County's Sheriff Office was dispatched to the area to investigate the report. During the initial response, a male subject was detained.
Upon further investigation, law enforcement located the deceased body of the missing person on the morning of September 23, 2024, later identified as Jane Doe. At this time, law enforcement has determined that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Charges are pending.
The Calhoun County Sheriff's office is being assisted in the investigation by Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Patrol, Webster County Sheriff's Office. Greene County Sheriff's Office and several local police departments. No further details will be released at this time as the investigation remains active.
