Woman arrested in the death of a toddler in Le Mars
LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) - Police in Le Mars, Iowa are investigating the death of a child.
KTIV is reporting that according to police, on April 29 around 3:30 pm, the Le Mars Police Department and Le Mars Rescue were dispatched to 234 3rd Ave. SW for reports of an uncocious child.
Life-saving measures were unsuccessful and the child, a two-year-old boy, was pronounced dead at Floyd Valley ER.
An investigation was started along with an autopsy. The investigation determined that 27-year-old Sexlyn Tataichy of Le Mars committed child endangerment that resulted in the death of her child.
On September 24, Tataichy was charged with second-degree murder, child endangerment resulting in death, and child endangerment multiple acts.
Police say all three charges are class b felonies.
Tataichy was booked at the Plymouth County Jail. Police have no additional details at this time.
