Man who distributed meth in Sac County sentenced to prison

A Dakota City man who was found guilty of distributing methamphetamine in an area county was sentenced to almost four years in federal prison this week after pleading guilty to conspiring to distributing methamphetamine.

Evidence showed that from July to November of 2019, 37 year old Tyler Tinken was involved in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in Sac and Humboldt county areas. On multiple occasions in September and October of last year, Tinken distributed over a pound of pure methamphetamine to individuals cooperating with law enforcement. In a search of Tinken's vehicle and residence in November of last year, law enforcement seized over 650 grams of methamphetamine that was intended for distribution.

Tinken was sentenced to 47 months imprisonment and must also serve a three-year term of supervised probation after being released from prison. Tinken was released on bond previously, and is to surrender to the Bureau of Prisons on a date yet to be determined.
