Breda replacing town signs
The Observer reports that the city of Breda is in the midst of installing new sign on each end of town along Highway E-16. The city purchased the block three years ago but had difficulty deciding where to build the signs and what design to proceed with. The Breda Golf Club has allowed the east sign to be built on their property, and the west sign is replacing the Iowa-shaped town sign which was erected nearly 30 years ago. CNB Powder Coatings of Sac City has done a completely custom letting and installation, while city staff installed the bases and Tim Henkelman of Aspinwall laid the block and the projects cost came out to roughly $7,500. Options are being explored to place the former west sign along the Sauk Rail Trail to provide a background which trail users can pause for photos while passing through Breda.
