Kiron man arrested on numerous drug-related charges
A press release from the Crawford County Sheriff's office shows that on Tuesday, December 15th a search warrant was executed at 32 North Grove Street in Kiron. During the execution of the search warrant an estimated 12.5 grams of methamphetamine was located as well as 34.5 grams of marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia and a loaded 9 MM handgun were seized as evidence.
As a result of the search warrant, 61 year old Stephen Copeland of Kiron was arrested and charged with Possession with intent to deliver more than 5 grams of methamphetamine which is a class B felony, failure to affix a Drug Stamp which is a class D felony, and the simple misdemeanors of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Copeland is currently being held in the Crawford County Jail without bond until seen by a judge. The Crawford County Sheriff's Office was assistd by the Denison Police Department, the Iowa State patrol, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, and the Sac County Sheriff's Office. The investigation is ongoing and there is a possibility more individuals could be charged in this case. All charges are allegations and Copeland is considered innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
