Accident near Arcadia results in 3 airlifted

Four people were reported to be injured in an accident northeast of Arcadia on the afternoon of Saturday January 2nd The Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene shortly after 12:30 p.m. The initial investigation revealed that 26 year Tyler Mattingly of Fort Dodge was headed west on 170th Street, west of Falcon Avenue in a 2008 Dodge passenger car and 29 year old Brandon Kramer of Lanesboro was driving east on 170th in a 2015 Chevy pickup. As Mattingly met a hills crest, his vehicle was over the centerline and struck Kramer's pickup head-on. The collision caused Kramer's truck to roll once before coming to rest on its wheels in the south ditch. Three of the four injured in the collision were airlfited to a Des Moines hospital with serious injuries, including Maddingly, 25 year old Jacob Lawler of Wall Lake and 21 year old Jordan Down of Denver, Colorado. Carroll County Emergency Medical Services transported 22 year old Aubri Roper of Paton to St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll for treatment of injuries. The responding troopers believe distracted driving may have been a factor in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
