Crawford County Solid Waste Agency Implements New Load Securing Policy Starting January 1

Crawford County Solid Waste Agency Implements New Load Securing Policy Starting January 1

Crawford County, IA – Beginning January 1, 2025, all residents and haulers are required to secure their loads when entering the Crawford County Solid Waste Agency facility. This new policy mandates that all loads must be properly tied down, strapped, or covered, and that tailgates must be in the upright position for all vehicles, including pickups, roll-offs, and dump trailers.

The purpose of this change is to ensure public safety and reduce the risk of debris and litter on local roadways. Those who fail to secure their loads will incur a $10.00 Unsecured Load Fee. Residents and haulers are encouraged to double-check that their loads are adequately secured before arriving at the facility.

Additionally, once unloading is complete, all vehicles must close their tailgates before leaving the facility.

For any questions or further clarification, please contact the scale house at (712) 263-8454. The Crawford County Solid Waste Agency appreciates the cooperation of the community in helping to keep our roads clean and safe.
