Iowa State Patrol Responds to 87 Calls for Service on January 2, 2024

The Iowa State Patrol (ISP) had a busy start to the new year, handling a total of 87 calls for service between 12 AM and 11:30 AM on January 2, 2024. Among these calls, the ISP responded to 25 crashes across the state, including 23 incidents involving property damage and 2 that resulted in personal injuries. Fortunately, there were no fatalities reported during this time frame.
In addition to the crashes, ISP officers also assisted 62 motorists, helping ensure safe travel across Iowa’s roads during the morning hours. The Iowa State Patrol continues to encourage safe driving practices, especially as winter weather conditions can often lead to hazardous roadways.
