Denison Municipal Utilities Responds to Power Outage on 4th Avenue South

Denison, IA – Denison Municipal Utilities (DMU) reported a power outage that affected around 450 customers on the evening of March 6. The outage occurred at approximately 9:00 PM in the 1700 block of 4th Avenue South due to a failure in the tie wire that holds the high-voltage phase to the insulator, causing it to fall onto the crossarm.

DMU crews, along with the Denison Fire Department, responded swiftly, restoring power to all affected customers within two hours.

"We appreciate the quick action of the Denison Fire Department and our DMU crews in resolving the situation and minimizing the inconvenience to our customers," a DMU spokesperson said.

The cause of the outage was promptly identified, and the situation was handled efficiently, ensuring that power was restored with minimal disruption to residents in the affected area.
