Successful Senior Day at Manning Regional Healthcare Center
Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) hosted a successful Senior Day event on April 24th, welcoming over 50 area seniors and their families for a day centered on promoting health, wellness, and connection for older adults.
The free, come-and-go event included a health and wellness vendor fair, complimentary lunch, informative presentations from MRHC staff, and valuable resources for seniors. Topics ranged from medication safety and mobility to mental health, Medicare fraud, and skilled care options. Attendees enjoyed engaging discussions and the chance to connect directly with healthcare professionals.
“It was a meaningful day that strengthened community bonds and highlighted the importance of caring for our older residents,” shared Haylee Barsby, MSN, RN, the Senior Day event coordinator and clinic nurse. “It was so awesome to see vendors interact with our community members and showcase local businesses who can help with the aging process. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make it a positive experience for all!”
MRHC extends a sincere thank you to all vendors, staff, and volunteers who contributed to the event’s success. Special thanks go to the event sponsors, Rehab Visions, Psychiatric Medical Care (PMC), Rolling Meadows, Carroll Area Nursing Services, and Angels Care Home Health, for their generous support in making the event possible.
Participating vendors included several MRHC departments (Radiology, Specialty Clinic, Respiratory Therapy, and more), along with 16 community partners such as Manning Ambulance, Holistic Health, Carroll and Crawford County Public Health, Elderbridge Agency on Aging, Eventide Nursing Home, Rehab Visions, PMC, Rolling Meadows, Restorix Health, Carroll Area Nursing Services, Regency Park, Carroll County Home Care, Care Initiatives Hospice, and Angel Care Home Care.
