IABN and Iowa State Fair Launch New Award to Honor County Fair Contributors
The Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network (IABN) has announced the creation of a new statewide recognition—the Heart of the County Fair Award. This award is designed to honor individuals, families, exhibitors, and fair board members who have shown exceptional dedication and passion for their county fair and local community.
A total of six awards will be given out—one for each of Iowa’s districts. Each district winner will receive a prize package and be recognized locally. Winners will also be honored at the 2025 Iowa State Fair during the County Fair Day Dinner, scheduled for Friday, August 9, 2025.
For the past year, IABN and the State Fair’s marketing team have been developing ways to recognize the people behind the grassroots organizations that help make county and state fair events possible.
“This is great news and we are excited about being able to provide a venue to honor those who are passionate and dedicated to their local county fair,” said Mindy Williamson, chief marketing officer for the Iowa State Fair.
Russ Parker, operations manager for the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network, said the recognition aligns closely with the network’s mission.
“We are honored to have the opportunity to partner with the Iowa State Fair and are excited to be the media sponsor for the new Heart of the County Fair Award,” Parker said. “Hard work at the local level resonates with our belief that local news and content is at the core of what works and what rural communities want to know. And the State Fair is a wonderful place to recognize that good work.”
