Embezzlement Date Set for Former Denison Bank Employees

A sentencing date is set for the former Head Teller at Consumers Credit Union in Denison, Brenda Jensen. Her sentencing will be revealed on March 8th at 3:15 PM in Sioux City. Jensen plead guilty in October to embezzlement of nearly $1.5 Million. In a plea agreement, Jensen confessed to embezzling from May 2012 to March 2018. Jensen remains free on bond pending sentencing.  Jensen faces a possible maximum sentence of 30 years’ imprisonment, a $1,000,000 fine, and 5 years of supervised release following any imprisonment.

The sister of Jensen, Janine Keim, is the former CCU Manager, and plead not guilty in federal court in December to embezzling over $1.4 Million as well as making false statements to an officer, auditor, or examiner of the National Credit Union Administration. Keim was idicted on the charges in early December. Keim's trial was initially scheduled for yesterday but was delayed to April 5th and will take place in Sioux City. The financial institution is now Cobalt Community Credit Union
