Cooper Gehlsen Completes Eagle Scout Project with Dugout Bench Installation in Denison

DENISON, IA — Cooper Gehlsen of Troop 55 has completed a significant milestone on his journey to becoming an Eagle Scout. His recently finished Eagle Scout project involved constructing and installing four 8-foot green treated benches at the senior league field dugouts in Denison.
Each custom-built bench includes a raised "top shelf" design, providing space for both seating and equipment storage. The project improves comfort and functionality for local athletes and coaches who use the dugouts.
Gehlsen received valuable support from several community partners. Denison Parks and Recreation and Sam Ellis granted permission and guidance for the project. Rasmussen Lumber played a key role in helping Gehlsen select the most suitable materials, while D&S Sales created custom plaques that are now proudly displayed on each bench.
The project marks an important step forward for Gehlsen as he moves closer to earning the rank of Eagle Scout—the highest achievement in Boy Scouts of America.
