Bedroom Fire in Denison Sends Two to Hospital; Red Cross Assisting Affected Residents

DENISON, Iowa (July 7, 2025) — Two people were transported to Crawford County Memorial Hospital following a residential fire Monday afternoon in Denison.
According to Denison Fire Chief Cory Snowgren, crews responded to a blaze at a single-family home located near Second Avenue North and North 19th Street. The fire, which originated in a bedroom, was determined to be accidental.
Emergency responders arrived on scene shortly after the initial report and quickly worked to contain the flames. The two individuals inside the residence at the time of the fire were taken to CCMH for treatment. Their current conditions have not been released.
The Denison Fire Department has contacted the American Red Cross to provide assistance to those displaced or affected by the incident.
