Two Cyclists Die During 2025 RAGBRAI Ride
ESTHERVILLE, Iowa — Two cyclists have died during this year’s RAGBRAI event, according to law enforcement officials in Iowa and Minnesota.
The Iowa State Patrol confirmed that a cyclist died Tuesday morning while traveling along the RAGBRAI route through Estherville. Emergency crews responded to a report of an unconscious rider around 7 a.m. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Their body has been transferred to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the exact cause of death.
This incident follows another fatality on Monday, when a RAGBRAI participant died after the route briefly entered Minnesota, as confirmed by the Minnesota State Patrol.
No identities have been released as authorities continue their investigations.
